Southampton Publick House Ale, Double White, with Coriander, Orange and Lemon Peel

Brewed & served in the house that beer built. Publick Knowledge: The roaring twenties- what and age it was!- when flapper dresses and jazz were all the rage. During those prohibition years, a landmark on the East End of Long Island, on the site where Southampton Publick House stands today, was forced to lead a double life. The original proprietors operated a proper restaurant while hiding a speakeasy in the back that served smuggled spirits and beer. Thirsty restaurant patrons would disappear for a short while, typically, returning with a much rosier disposition. Today Southampton Publick House, with it's warm and inviting surroundings, persists in its fondness for doubling up. Brewmaster Phil Markowski has created Double White, a double- gravity version of one of the most difficult beers to master-Belgian-style white ale. A style named for its cloudy appearance, ours is uniquely brewed with unmalted wheat and lightly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange. It is the perfect choice for those who like a robust white ale that is also refined and delicate. Award-winning taste from the house that beer built.
